French intellectual Andre Malraux sends an open letter to US President Nixon lambasting his stance against India and Bangladesh. He says he was ready to fight for Bangladesh three months before the independence along with 150 veterans from the World War II.

  • Two high officials of Bangladesh government reach Dhaka – Ruhul Quddus, newly appointed secretary general, and Abdul Khaleque, inspector general of police. Cheer and gunfire are heard now and then. The freedom fighters are celebrating their victory.

 

  • French intellectual Andre Malraux sends an open letter to US President Nixon lambasting his stance against India and Bangladesh. He says he was ready to fight for Bangladesh three months before the independence along with 150 veterans from the World War II.

 

  • Four Soviet-made tanks have been deployed in front of Hotel Intercontinental, a neutral zone, to resist any attempts of the freedom fighters to snatch former governor Dr Malik.
