In a message to UN secretary general U’Thant, foreign department of Bangladesh government states that it impossible to solve refugee crisis bypassing the elected representatives of republic Bangladesh.

  • Freedom fighters of D Company of Fourth Bengal Regiment attack Gosai Sthan Ghat camp in Kosba causing huge damaged to the Pakistan soldiers.

 

  • Muktijoddha team ambush Pakistani soldiers heading towards Nankara from Gajannath Ginghi via Trank road. 26 Pakistan soldiers are wounded.

 

  • Freedom fighters of B and D Company led by Hafiz Uddin Ahmed and Captain Salahuddin Mamataj under the battalion of Jajor Moynul Hossain Chowdhury of Z-Force attack Pakistan camp in Kamalpur of Mymensingh district and kill 59 Pakistani soldiers and injure 60 others. Meanwhile, 31 freedom fighters including D company commander Captain Salauddin Mamataj sacrifice their lives and 56 freedom fighters sustain injuries in counter attack of Pakistan raiders. This fighting is known as Kamalpur war.

 

  • Two companies of freedom fighters attack Bahadurabad Ghat camp of Pakistani raiders and damage huge firearms and injure 100 Pakistan troops.

 

  • In a message to UN secretary general U’Thant, foreign department of Bangladesh government states that it impossible to solve refugee crisis bypassing the elected representatives of republic Bangladesh.

 

  • The number of refugees, who took shelter in India being repressed by Pakistani raiders, stands at 71, 33,004.

 

  • Rawalpindi military spokesman declares that the government will soon publish a paper on sedition of illegal-declared Awami League chief Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

 

  • Military administration beefs up security in Dhaka and its outskirts fearing guerilla attacks.

 

  • Pakistani collaborators led by Misirullah, Enamullah and Jamal Uddin form three subcommittee with nine members in each aiming to increase the Peace Committee and encourage other associates to fight freedom fighters.
