  • Two Pak army soldiers are killed and five injured in an ambush carried out by Mukti Bahini at 2 No. sector.
  • Mukti Bahini ambush a group of Pak army soldiers at Noapara of Jessore district. Six army members are killed and four hurt in the ambush and freedom fighters return safely to their place.
  • Freedom fighters from Sylhet air forces with Indian allied force attack on Pakistani BOP and a factory in Sylhet. In the attack, two members of 30 Frontier Force Regiment of Pakistani army are killed and many of them injured.
  • Two Pakistani army members are killed and three others injured when Mukti Bahini fighters ambushed in Kahur area at 2 no. sector.
  • A Pak soldier is killed in a mine explosion carried out by the Mukti Bahini on Birishiri-Bijoypur road in Mymensingh.
  • Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and her British counterpart Adward Hith discuss about Bangladesh’s Liberation war in a two-hour long meeting in London.
  • Pakistani president Gen Yahya Khan in an interview with Daily Mail, says that a war between India and Pakistan will be held soon and China will not tolerate if India and Pakistan attack each other.
  • MH Sufi, agricultural adviser to the Pakistan President Yahya, tells a press conference that there is no food crisis in East Pakistan.
  • Pakistan representative Mahmud Ali meet with the United Nations General Secretary U Thant during the UN General Assembly.
  • Election Commission says that election will be held only in twenty three constituencies because 55 contestants are elected in Pakistan National Assembly election. And three contestants are elected unopposed in the by-polls, the EC says.
  • In London, Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi at Indians rally says that she requested to Britain to create pressure on Pakistan for resolving the issues of Bangladeshi refugees in India and Bangladesh’s independence politically. India did not desire war, she says. The issue must be resolved through discussions with the leaders of Bangladesh (East Pakistan) and Pakistan, the prime minister says.
  • Pakistan President Yahya Khan in an interview with the New York Times says that he could consider release of illegal Awami League party head Sheikh Mujibur Rahman if the nation wants.Yahya said that he did not want to worsen the situation. But there would be war if India continued to provide assistance with arms to the miscreants (freedom fighters), he tells the New York Times.
  • Nurul Amin leaves Dhaka to meet with Pakistan President Yahya Khan. He will press the demands to the president about inclusion of eight-point manifesto of PDP in the draft charter, he tells the reporters at the airport.
